Sportcare has been servicing the Capital area skaters for their sharpening needs since  they opened their original shop in the King’s Arrow Arena in Oromocto in 1970.  In 1983 Sportcare opened their Fredericton shop at 224 Queen Street located 2 doors up from MacTavish Source for Sports.  Although working out of a small shop, a lot of work comes through their doors. The main business may be sharpening skates, but other services include, blade replacement, contouring, all types of skate repairs, racquet stinging, golf club regripping and shafting, sporting goods repair, and hockey stick repair.  When Willie O’Ree Place opened, in 2008, Sportcare opened their third location, which is near the rear entrance beside the office.  The Grant/Harvey Center opened in 2012.  Sportcare has opened its 4th location inside this arena in 2014.  The location is the same as the Willie O’Ree shop.

Sportcare is also the authorized warranty dealer for Bauer, Reebok/CCM and Easton skates.

Many People enjoy reminiscing the past, using the hockey pictures dating back to the late 80’s while waiting for their skates at the Queen Street location or the puck collection at the Kings Arrow shop.

Sportcare shares a history with figure skates as well.  Tom Hasson was invited to Moncton in 1985 to be the official sharpener for the Canadian National Championships.

Not only does Sportcare take pride in their work they guarantee it.
